Publisher's Description

Dialog Box Assistant is a small program that helps you to deal with the standard Open and Save As dialog boxes. It places 2 buttons in the upper-right corner of the dialog box. When you press the left button you see a drop-down list that contains most recently used folders. Right button is for the recent files. It keeps a list of recently used folders and files for each application you work with.

This is an elegant, reliable and works with all aplications that I need without any problem at all. I just wish a Vista version!

Ummm, boobah, the "interface shortcomings" I was talking about had to do with configuration, not the two caption buttons DBA adds. Configuration dialogs are part of an "interface" too, OK?

This program is a must for people, who work with lots of files. I, personally, use it for my graphics-related projects. One click in Photoshop or Corel, and you're in the folder of your current project.
Support of both MS Word and Excel is also a fine feature.

Strange, that somebody finds any interface shortcomings in DBA, because the only interface it shows is _2_ additional buttons on the upper-right corner of the dialog box.
Still DBA is my favorite. New version has MS Office 2003 support and 'Browse for Folder' dialogs also. No other software does this.
Five out of five !

I found DBA better than most, but it does have serious interface shortcomings. I've found File-Ex to be more powerful.

This program has great potential, but there are some major drawbacks to it that have yet to be addressed (despite me detailing them to the author nearly a year ago).

'File Open' and 'File Save As' dialogs really do need to be handled *separately* in order for this program to become truly useful.

Hopefully the PhotoShop dialog problems will also be fixed in this version.

There is a few programs like this one that becomes invaluable and you ask yourself why MS didn't tought of it (lucky for us !). Dialog Box, Recent Document, TotalSize are my Office Trio. It's not free but it worth it.

I agree. Excellent program, but it now pops a time delayed "evaluation" and "buy" dialog. It would be nice if users were told via the install that they're about to over-write the freeware version with a nag version.
