I would like to give this a 5 but can't see how to delete all duplicates found with a single click. Other reviewers say this can be done, but it escapes me. The author's website has forums, FAQ, instructions, but I can't find it. I am using 4.4 the latest version. If this is easy to do, I would welcome your instructions.

Hey Antichrist. As posted in his blog and I quote as to being asked why on FF3 support, he says " no, still no plans to hack into foreign databases. Only browsers that save their bookmarks in a readable plain text format are supported."

Still no Firefox 3 support! I did find a Firefox addon finally, CheckPlaces ( http://www.andyhalford.com/checkplaces/ ), that has most of the functionality though, such as restoring favicons, checking for duplicates and dead links. So I've switched to that and I'm happy with it.

Just a few days ago I had to use AM-DeadLink because all the boomark icons were messed up for some reason or an other. Tookk a few minutes to get them all back with it. Just for that reason alone is more than enough to get a 5 from me. The rest of the other functions also make it get a five. I only have one thing I would like to see added. Instead of that "fruit icon" they use to show each link having had their icons updated, how about using the actual icon for those links?

I have used this for ages. It's very fast, it gives always a very good result of my links in Favorites. I really can say, this IS very good to find out if a link works or not. But beware; sometimes it's faulse. Some links You have to check out for Your self. But i can say that almost 98% of the links are correct (don't know the exact word in English).

It's a very good application ! I love it !

I expected this program to take ages to check all my favorites but hell was it fast! Installation was simple and fast and startup was no problem. I also took the time to use the tools to check some of the bookmarks that came up as 404s and I have to confess I loved the search option to see if the websites were still up. One of my links was to an article and that one came up as a 404 so I did the search to see if the website itself was still there and it was. Then with the program I used the change bookmark option. Extremely simple to use. I give it a 5.

besides an error open url whose description I could not find, it reported quite some 404 errors. and when checked with the browser, confirmed ! simple, straightforward and works like a charm. exellent, recommended...

Download, installed, used, found out that I had a lot more bookmarks than I ever thought. :P It worked flawlesly. I'm using XP Pro.

By the way, before deleting a seemingly dead link, make sure you check it with the browser also. I'm saying this just because I know of a server that is going under maintenance at the moment. Came up as a 404. :P Just so you avoid deleting a bookmark you want to deep. Besides that all I have to say is that it deserves a five.

Does its job very well. Fairly configurable too.
If you have a large link collection, it is worth the time to verify them. Out of 600+ this found 50 or so that were dead, and many more that had redirects. Those were easy to fix with this too too.

Outstanding program for checking your Favorites for dead links. I've been using it for months now and consider it one of my essential tools. It's a shame that this ability is not built into any of the current browsers.

In theory this should be a fine program; in practice it found all my 600+ bookmarks as 404 not found and deleted all my favicons of IE, some of which I customized by myself. I have to redo all from scratch...

I can speak about the 1.31 version that looks to still be the last final, it is one must have software , yes it works great with the IE6 , and i will say that this is one of the most useful tools that i own ..

The program does what it says it does. For other browsers than IE you must select the path in Settings. I had about 600 links before and now I have about 540.

Has some nice features in addition to the dead link checking - back-up of bookmarks and search for duplicates. It finds the IE bookmarks automatically, but doesn't even try to find the bookmarks for Opera and Netscape - I think it at least should try. It's also possible to check only a subset of the bookmarks - great if you a lot of them... The help pages could be better, but it's not a very difficult program. Overall I think it's great...
