previous review: sorry, I forgot to set the correct rating. Of course in my case it should be just one single star... If I could I would give it no star at all.....

If your original ATI software package didnt work with all your DVDs, trust me, this update wont help! You'd think a major company like this could put out a semi-decent DVD app for the card you bought - wheres the keyboard shortcuts for all the functions??, how come it refuses to play some of my dvds (just like the original crap software)....you're better off with the duck freeware dvd player thats on this site...

ATI's DVD player is actauly a special version of cinemaster already somehwat optimised for playback on ATI's chipsets.

It seems that ATI's Multimedia center in gernal is whacky to set up for some (it's not always the software's fault, you *better* have followed every instruction they give you to the ltter or it goes boom)

This relase dosn't support all the older ways of accerlation on your ATI card, so don't use it unless you have directx 8.1 instaled or windows xp!!

I would stick with the dvd player that came in older MMC instaltions, the picture quiality is the same, same with sound, only differne is the newer one ssupport a few more features, and are skinable

    Yes,

A ton of users have the installation problem and ATI doesnt bothr to neither respond nor fix this...and I am not going to buy another new card because of thsi, their driver developement is the worst and has always been less than satisfactory, I always avoided Nvidia due to 2d issues but now, they caught up and I am goinjg to switch after years of holding true to ATI .
