ATi RenderMonkey is a suite of open, extensible shader development tools for both current and future hardware that allows programmers and artists to collaborate on creating realtime shader effects.

- Improved docking window support and support for generic docking window layout
- Addition of an application preference page for plug-ins which gets saved automatically in the application registry file between application executions
- The application window state is now saved with each workspace which allows window positions and sizing to be persistent for each user

- Improved Microsoft FX file exporter
- Support for Microsoft X meshes for both OpenGL and DirectX workspaces
- Added ability to package up opened workspaces into a single zip file containing all of the relevant textures and model files
- Ability to drag and drop an RFX file from Windows Explorer onto the opened RenderMonkey application to open the workspace stored in that file
- Procedural geometry and texture generation via "Generate" menu
- Texture preview thumbnails
- Renderable texture preview via different options for both OpenGL and DirectX effect rendering
- Predefined variables use semantics, rather than direct names, for identification by the program

This tool is a must have if you are creating artwork for some 3D application. Very usefull for both the programmer and the artist.
