Reviewing 2.20 Beta (Apr 6, 2005)
Brute force and dictionary attacks on Word docs are not exactly difficult to code, but probably not worth the effort, given that Accent is not very expensive. Out of interest I wrote a macro in Word itself to attack a password protected Word doc. Worked fine, though Accent does it far quicker than my macro did. In any case, all this demonstrates that RSA with 128-bit keys, as used in Office, is not very good these days.
