Reviewing 1.5 Beta (Jul 19, 2006)
I had to select a rating to submit the review and since I work for Attensa I'm biased. What can I say?
We have updated the license status. Attensa for Outlook 1.5 is a 60 day free beta of a commerical product. We did not intend to deceive people. The 1.5 version was only partially updated. Sorry for the confusion.
You can get the final version free by participating in the beta program.
You can get details here: http://www.attensa.com/beta/
Active contributors to the beta forum will receive a free activation code when the final 1.5 product is available.
Reviewing 1.5 Beta (Jul 16, 2006)
It's a great app. It does what i promises. Adds support for RSS in Outlook. I'm using it with 2003, and since we haven't seen Office 2007, and it's a free app, then I think that rating it against a unreleased product, is a joke.
Reviewing 1.5 Beta (Jul 15, 2006)
Now I know it is not great to rate a product if one hasn't actually used it, but I can't look over the fact that the new Office (Office 2006, release end of this year or beg. of next) has RSS feed support integrated.
The development of the product therefore becomes pointless unless a unique selling proposition is added to compete with the new integrated features of Outlook.
Reviewing 1.5 Beta (Jul 14, 2006)
I felt this product was more mature than the previous reviewer. It has some unique features for automatically prioritizing feeds, and the options available for customizing & synchronizing between multiple machines were more refined than in any of the freeware alternatives I have seen.
On the other hand, Attensa is definitely not freeware. I hate the way so many commercial betas are being represented as freeware here, just because the beta itself is free. Unless the beta NEVER expires, it's not freeware. It's really no different from a demo/trial version of a fully-released commercial product.
