Auction Sentry has been the #1 desktop eBay auction sniping program since its release in 2001. In addition to tracking your eBay auctions for you and placing your bids at the last moment (referred to as sniping) Auction Sentry features a built in browser, support for conditional bidding and support for multiple eBay user IDs. Whether you're a buyer or a seller this eBay tool streamlines and automates the transactions you make on eBay. The intuitive interface displays your auctions in a color-coded grid indicating which auctions you are winning, which you have been out-bid on, and which you have set up a snipe bid for. It tracks all of your auctions and has a configurable refresh rate to keep all information displayed current, alerting you when an auction you are tracking receives a bid. Sniping through Auction Sentry is designed to help you save time through automation and to help you save money by avoiding costly bidding wars.

RIPOFF, Beware. They refused to honor the original lifetime guarantee from the creator Dan Hite. Go get Auction Magic instead.
Reviewing 1.5.3 (Mar 27, 2012)
I’ve been a Auction Sentry user since Dan Hite brought the program out for eBay users almost ten years ago. I too purchased the “Lifetime” version. Then for the past several years after Auctiva bought it,I’ve bought the annual subscription for $12.95
A few days ago I received a message saying my subscription was ending…the same day it ended…and the only option was to agree to a monthly subscription plan at $4.95 month…or four times more than I’ve been paying for the past several years!
Based on what I have read online in the past couple of days,I am inclined to post my review of this behavior to every online venue that will accept it if Auctiva doesn’t change their fee structure. This kind of s*&% is just the thing to incite a call for vengeance against companies who abuse their customers. If you too are so inclined,i suggest commentary be placed on at least these sites:Softpedia,C’net,EcommerceBytes, and AuctionBytes.
Plus a letter or phone call to their offices might be helpful as well:

Tell them in plain language what you think of their administration of Auction Sentry.
As a substitute,I am now using a freeware program called:Gixen which is a worthy replacement for Auction Sentry especially for casual buyers. Here’s the link to their main site:
Reviewing 1.5.3 (Dec 30, 2011)
I purchased AuctionSentry in 2003 for what was supposed to be a "lifetime" license, expiring in 2099. Now, in 2011, AuctionSentry has declared that its original software has been upgraded, so it is no longer honoring that 96-year licensing agreement, instead all must pay a $14.99 annual fee. AS states that the "lifetime" license was only good for the lifetime of the *software*, not MY lifetime. By updating the software they effectively killed it, ending its "life."
What a load.

I do not bid on ANY E-Bay item without using this program. No more sticking around at home waiting for an auction to end- this program does it automatically with the parameters I set. E-Bay changes their site data frequently- the author of this program updates the program usually THE SAME DAY. This kind of product support is as good as it gets. I liked this program so much, I actually bought a licensed version. Well worth the money spent on it.
