Battery Bar always shows you exactly how much time your laptop's battery will run. It uses the most accurate time prediction algorithm on the market today. It also displays the current percentage of battery power left. It is intelligent and the more you use it, the more accurate it gets. It continuously displays status icons so that you can always tell if your battery is on AC, charging, battery power, or if your battery is low. It will also let you specify a battery percentage level that when reached, it will shut down the computer. It has the ability to run on top of all other programs so that it is always visible. It is small so that you have plenty of screen space for other programs.

There is a much improved version of this program by a different author, called "BatteryBar". It's created by "Osiris Development", and comes in Free and Pro (paid) versions and is compatible with 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, and 7 and is updated regularly.

It worked pretty well for while. But after about a month, it started telling me I had 30min of battery life, when it still lasts about 2.5 hours.

This program did not work. First it installed an icon on my desktop without asking me. Then, when I either selected that icon or started the program through the start menu, the install program ran again. I could not get the program itself to launch.
I have removed it from my system.

Awesome program. I have a generic laptop and it is great because it didn't come with software of this type as many of the name brand laptops do. Now I can tell exactly how long my battery will last.
