Why do people complain if there is a new product out that is similar to something else. On one hand they hate monopoly but on the other hand they bash a vendor for producing a new software and so what if they charge for it, nobody is forcing you to buy it.

Not user-friendly, and lacks of features. I will recommend TrueCrypt and AxCrypt, both are free.

I agree, BestCrypt is the best. Very reliable. I use BestCrypt with the (separately available) RC6 cipher, and the speed is fantastic. I do rrrrrrrrrrreally wish I could resize volume files like I used to be able to with SafeHouse though.

I agree--BestCrypt is among the best, if not the best. One of the other popular commercial encrypted-volume products just released a new version, and in their release notes, they admit that they fixed stability issues. When I was trying to use their previous version, however, they vehemently denied such problems. You'll get none of that run-around with BestCrypt and Jetico (the authors). They release minor updates very often, to fix whatever small issues individual users bring up. Their support is quite responsive. Now, this is where someone will chime in to claim that Jetico has given a master key to the FBI, or they have their own back-door, or some other baseless nonsense. Whenever someone blathers on about that, pay careful attention to the basis for their claim--in other words, the proof. I've NEVER gotten more "proof" out of anyone than "Shucks, I read it somewhere". If Jetico had their own back-doors, they would be pretty stupid; doing so could put their personal safety in serious jeopardy (would YOU want to be the only way some lawless and determined organization could access some data it was after?). In short (too late, I know...), BestCrypt is rock-solid for me on WinXP; it is well designed, and it offers the absolute best encryption algorithms available today (Serpent, Twofish, Blowfish [256 and 448], and AES). I wish it used a hash algorithm more solid than SHA-1, but this is nitpicking, since the 160-bit SHA-1 is still very stout.

Very good Partition Encryption Program. Definitely one of the best, if not the best. Also a Linux Port is available which is great for dual-booters like me. Unregistered Version allows only Read Access after 30 Days which is great as in Linux NTFS write isn't supported anyway :-)
Performance when writing to the encrypted drive is great to (i'm using Blowfish Encryption, might vary with others), just CPU load is a bit higher then when writing to an unencrypted Drive.
