I give it a 5 because it does exactly what it says it does and without any problems. It's also free. Too bad the publisher abandoned it though.

Not that we are short of free audio CD rippers and this one would fill a gap... but well. Extremely simple to install and use. Click & go. It comes with the necessary encoding DLLs and the interface is simple and straightforward. It worked flawlessly for me, also with mixed-mode CDs. I can't judge the accuracy of the AKRIP32 rip engine when it has to deal with scratched media though. Maybe Accurate Rip support would be an option. If ultra-simple is what the developers had in mind I would rearrange the left-side buttons in the order you will probably use them: refresh -> get tags -> rip -> (cancel). No need for the button "per track settings" as these are just fine in the context menu. The general options could also stay in the main menu only. The drop down button for the encoder is a good idea. Unfortunately there is no option to encode to Musepack (MPC). But I guess that audiophile users will prefer EAC anytime anyway.

Oh! I don't seem a problem with the GUI looking the same as that of another. Infact, its not too nice to get the program of to a low start purely on looks and that too, not directly on the looks, but because it looks like another program! I'll give it a 5 just to compensate the lost value... in whichever way it helps!
