Clam-AV is an open source program intended to provide anti-virus support to QuickZip, scanning your files to check for viruses. It can detect over 28,000 viruses and new viruses can be detected with updated virus signatures. It is written using the KOL library, thus program size is small (400kb or less). I have written a complete interface for this plugin and you can use this plugin seperately.

    Sorry I haven't tried this yet, but if people are looking for a standalone ClamAV interface (ClamAV is actually a seperate project, I don't know why this one didn't change the name) check out http://www.clamwin.com/

    Not bad! The term "plug-in" is misleading. This is actually a full-blown on-demand AV program. Updating is easy and went smoothly. Scanning speed was pretty slow. The worst disappointment was the file size limitation, somewhere around 50MB. I like the extremely small program size, but that's somewhat negated by a 1.4MB signature file. All in all, a neat little program that could be useful.

    Zorty, although named as plugin, It can be used seperately. Download size of ClamWin is 4mb, and download size of ClamAV-Plugin is 400kb, target audience are different.

    this is only a plugin for quickzip if I got that right (??!). If you are looking for a windows port of clam-av (originally unix-based): http://www.clamwin.net/
    The name of this _plugin_ is pretty confusing.. made me think it's a GUI for clamav or somthing.

    as good as quickzip might be - I rate this 3/5 just because of the name.
