I'm the creator, so I gave it a 3.
To respond to the remarks on the page: the comics work, and some of them are in Dutch, not German. If you don't like them, unsubscribe from it. If you are using a proxy, you have to make sure you enter the correct settings, and restart the program (sorry about that).
Furthermore, if you have any comment about the software, please let me know personally so I can improve the software instead of posting these kinds of remarks, though they help too.

as usual, this program doesn't work .... just sits there displaying and doing nothing

Wow, grossly inferior piece of software. I just use konbaulator's Comix widget and its much more flexible and user friendly than this ComicReader.
I can ACTUALLY get the comics i read, and not random German comics....
I highly recommend avoiding this product until the designers gets their act together. This shouldn't even be in the beta stages yet. Comic Reader appears to be a piece of software that the author wrote for personal use and just gave up after that.
I can invision the design sessions and the thoughts around the table prior to releasing this beta. "User interface? Options? Flexibility... bah! I'm sure anyone who uses the product will be happy to take what they get".
Reviewing 0.3.2 (Apr 18, 2006)
Not as good as the previous betas. Half of the comics are in German.

only tried it with garfield and works great ...
a few blank ones here and there but nothing major ... MUCH better than having to click over and over on that silly vault
