Portable Document Format (PDF) is the de facto standard for the secure and reliable distribution and exchange of electronic documents and forms around the world. CutePDF Writer installs itself as a "printer subsystem". This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to create professional quality PDF documents.

this is nothing more than a virtual printer. the screenshot is (intentionally?) misleading; there is no user interface other than the browse dialogue. The install automatically requires an additional d/l of a 'converter'. if its required, y not include it in the program install?! the misleading pic is CHEEZY but, i gave the proggie a chance; its lame compared to *** doPDF *** ! if u need the functionality of 'converting' any 'printable' doc to PDF, get *** doPDF *** ; better browse dialogue w/history, 'use last dir' option, option to auto open new saved PDF in ur PDF program (i recommend *** PDFXchange Viewer Free ***!) and it CLAIMS 2 b a printer driver. it flawlessly does what it claims 2 do with a better look and more features than cutepdf. this gets 2 stars for doing what it claims but trying to mislead us.

This will install Ask.Toolbar even if when installing you unselect that $hit.
After you install, if you want to print to PDF you must go and download another program, a "free" converter...
Thank you, but NO!

Does what it says! Great freeware. Never had any issues.

I give 4 stars because the program does what it's supposed to fairly well. However, if I was going to recommend a free PDF creation program, I would have to go with PDF Creator. PDF Creator also does a great job and INCLUDES the GhostScript in the install. CutePDF requires a separate download and install. It's a minor thing, but I think PDF Creator will be an easier setup for most folk.
In regards to bigmamma, it is possible folks might want to create PDF files from non-office apps.

I submitted this program to be listed on FileForum/BetaNews almost 2 years ago!!!
I LOVE this program!
Simple. Fast. Free. No watermarks!
Just print to PDF and have a nice day!
...And I don't know why it shows a snapshot of Foxit PDF Reader because this program is only a virtual printer for Windows. Not an actual program you interact with as shown above.
