There is many other reasons why others don't want use VFP. What's if someone just needed view/edit dbf files and don't want to fill he's head with programming? He will use our program for sure. Anyway nothing against of using VFP. Someone wants big monster, someone - a little utility. :)

I have to agree with Victor on this, I don't see the point of this program. I could make this program in VFP in 2 hours and have all the capabilities. In fact I have made a program that does 80 percent of this program and use it in testing purposes. The interface does look nice I will give it that, but there is no purpose of this program. There is typically a reason you need a program like vfp to look at a dbf. I do not want my customers modifying the database, they don't understand Referential Integrity and would mess everything up. The only people who should be messing with it are IT people who understand it. And if they understand it they can either use VFP or make their own environment for cheaper than what this program costs.

VictorAnderson, just one thing you forgot to tell. How much cost the Windows Foxpro? ;))
You suggest install and use Windows monster for common users? Ha-ha ;))
Believe me nobody, except of developers of course, will use Foxpro if they need only simple view/edit dbf files.
Also, can you import to dbf from text files and export dbf to text/csv, html, xls, rtf in Foxpro?
Also, there is no any info that this program is freeware.

"....VictorAnderson, just one thing you forgot to tell. How much cost the Windows Foxpro? ;))

    True, VFP is not cheap.

"Believe me nobody, except of developers of course, will use Foxpro if they need only simple view/edit dbf files...."

That's also true, but then again if somone other than a developer is editing .dbf files, doesn't it make since that whatever they used to genterate these magicial .dbf files is going to allow them to edit them? Again, I don't see the purpose of this piece of software.

"Also, can you import to dbf from text files and export dbf to text/csv, html, xls, rtf in Foxpro?"

Yes of course you can, and also all versions of xls (Excel), Lotus 123, Symphony, Multiplan (MOD), Data Interchange Format (DIF), System Data Format (SDF) and several other format as well.

"Also, there is no any info that this program is freeware....."

ooops - now that IS my mistake. Gee I'll rate it a 2 instead of a 1.
    --------------------------------------------------

I downloaded it, installed it, ran it, uninstalled it.
First - its NOT freeware - its shareware.
Second - I don't know who it is that thinks the foxpro UI isn't as good as this pile of junk, but obviouly they haven't used (or don't know how to use) VFP. (Visual Foxpro) For starters this thing doesnt allow you to do anything with .dbc files, and only lets you do things to a .dbf - errr free tables only? I mean how useless is that? The .dbc technology has been in foxpro since version 3.0!!! Heck 9.0 beta is out now! So in addtion to trashing yer .dbc, you can't create views or anything with this either either. Doesn't have a view-builder, query maker, can't create relations between tables...I mean this thing does nuttin!
So ummmm.. gee I can open a table, browse it, append a record, delete a record, and edit a record. Geeee - now someone tell me what in the world anyone would want to blow $40 for a 3rd part app like this one to do something so lame!
I'd give it a zero but the programmer did at least make the UI for it pretty. (Although the whole thing is still kinda useless)

miforz what are you doing reviewing this program (and three times!) when you didn't use it?

This isn't really freeware, it's a time limited beta of a non-free program. However, it's a decent program; easy to use with a good looking GUI. Blows the clumsy MS Foxpro UI away.
