Daisy is a program that reviews your system for service pack and OS levels, determining what hotfixes the OS and applications need, and downloads and installs them in a correct and consistent manner. It checks that the hotfixes installed on the system are installed correctly.

    I've used Daisy for the last 4 months or so. I was sold the first time I ran it, and it found 3 hotfixes that Wimp-dows Update missed. I have messenger disabled, but would simply start it manually to run Daisy. That's no longer neccesary; Thanks, joeuser99, for the switch info!

    Hey Cirque, RTFM, you can use the command line swithc -m to disable the feature that uses messenger to notify users.

    Using the Messenger port is a BAD idea because people spam it and you leave no control as to whats coming in if its on. The only way I can see using that is if your enabling it ONLY while getting updates and it turns itself back off if that was its previous state. Noone wants to be spammed by ads with messenger service on!
