Direct MIDI to MP3 Converter is a tool to convert MIDI and KARAOKE MIDI files to MP3 format. With Direct MIDI to MP3 Converter you can convert your favorite MIDI or KARAOKE MIDI files to high quality MP3 files. Also batch conversion mode is supported. You can enter ID3 tags for each file, too. It allows you to select desired MP3 encoder settings and you can use the program for playback of MIDI files directly.

    well, it works, but ...

    -1p for being lazy and using the lousy DirectX Music engine for rendering. How about VSTi plugins? other quality software synth (read not-free)?
    -1p for being even lazier and not even giving to user the ability to change the (horrible) default soundbank file used by DirectX (yes, winamp MIDI plugin is doing it).
    -1p for not testing the program display under a custom XP theme/style and custom DPI display settings
    -1p for not supporting losless encoders - APE, FLAC etc.

    I would say it's a nice start - however asking money for a program like this is ridiculous. Especially when compared with a mature program like Synthfont (www.synthfont.com)
