   Truecrypt is now easily crackable with passware kit 9.7 without using brute force. I have no idea how this would fare against passware kit but I do know how easy it is to get it.

   What's the matter UD? Can't handle the competition? If you don't like how it uses encryption technology, don't use it. But don't post just to be a b**** or some truecrypt fanboy. I prefer whole disc over 'containers' any day.

   I am especially happy that the program provides feature to make bootloader image for PXE network booting. This is extremely convenient for enterprise/corporate or any other network environments.

   Were you interested in modifying and distributing TrueCrypt code? I didn't think so. You can look at the code; it IS open source. That's what counts. That's the point. I don't care if the OSI Nazis support it.
   
   anomoly your rant makes no sense. Competition? What? I am not a TrueCrypt developer or investor so I have no stake in it. Prefer whole disc [sic]? Yeah, me too, that's why I use TrueCrypt. Telling me I can't post reviews just because I don't like crapware is ludicrous.

   TrueCrypt is not a real open source license and does not permit distribution. The OSI doesn't support the project and its origins are sketchy. Essentially you can look at the code, everything else about it isn't "free" per Open Source Tradition. what is the point, then, especially for something as important as security?

   Finally! Something that can fully encrypt drives other than the system one (that is, as in not creating container for the size of a drive)! Good job! *Goes away to encrypt me portable USB HDD* :P

   I tried this unpolished thing a few months ago and could not get it to work well. Be very careful before trying it. I strongly recommend sticking with TrueCrypt instead. TrueCrypt has a much larger user base, a team of authors, and it's also open source. As for being "optimized", it doesn't get better than TrueCrypt.

   Finally! A true disk encryptor.
   Truecrypt was supposedly originally designed to be a "great creator of empty volumes".
   This is optimized for encrypted data access as it should be.
