Who cares if it will support mkv? If it's not a h264 stream inside that mkv nobody is going to care. DivX + mkv? BFD.
ASP codecs are the past. Time to move on to AVC people.

Hard to rate. Works fine but I use Ffdshow. I put this on just to review it but went back to my K-Lite codec package.
*gate1975mlm,
Divx7 will not "support" MKV. MKV is a container used to join video, audio and subtitles together. It does the same job as AVI and offers more features but is incompatible with some software and hardware (such as Divx DVD players).
You can, for example take a movie with the MKV container, Divx6 video, MP3 audio and convert the MKV container to AVI. It will look and sound EXACTLY the same.
I'm not sure what the Divx7/MKV deal is but if true it would be a software or hardware video player that can play MKV and AVI container formats. I'd also look for H.264/AVC and more audio codec support from a hardware player. Software is just codec packs.
