Reviewing 9.0.0.6 Beta (Dec 28, 2008)
It looks nice , but works like crap . Adware , bloatware , and crapware all rolled up into one . "leverages patented technology " - sounds like something written by a failed Wall Street investment firm .
Reviewing 8.6.7.1 (Aug 12, 2008)
DAP is not a good download manager because it corrupts the downloads. It downloads files over the file size, 99 MB file goes 102.23 MB. DAP is a UNRELIABLE Download MANAGER (UDM)
Reviewing 8.6.6.2 (Jun 5, 2008)
It does work but it also installs stuff you did not ask for like a file shredder and it is not easy to uninstall, felt like a kind of malware in the system. Go for Free Download Manager, it is gentle and easy on the system and works. And no distracting and annoying ads flipping around like crazed adrenaline biomorphs.
Reviewing 8.6.2.2 (Dec 18, 2007)
I have two major gripes about DAP:
* it's adware, which pretty much rules it out of my system.
* all build I ever tried were unstable. It would eventually crash at the least opportune moment, without me ever figuring out the pattern. I don't know if they ever rewrote this application from scratch, but I'd suggest they do.
I really can't recommend DAP at all, especially when there is so many alternative around with better offers (and I mean pretty much all of them).
Reviewing 8.5 Build 8536 Beta (Feb 22, 2007)
My god! i just can't believe the fact that people still live in isolation with real world truths and believe rumors......
Let me make it very clear that dap has no spyware/malware/trojans etc etc......as told by reviewers b4 me!
its a perfectly fine application...with all necessary features...
Yes,dap does display ads but not by accessing some dangerous sites...but from its own installation folder........try any decent anti-virus/spyware and you won't find any un-desirable stuff in it!
