   Reviewing 4.2.22.0 Beta (Dec 27, 2009)

   Eset is one of the best, and has been for a while. It's lightweight, easy to use and almost 'install and forget it' due to it's frequent, silent background def. updates.
   Anyone who thinks AVG or Avast (Free or Paid) are in the same league is unfortunately deluded or have never used Eset for any amount of time.
   I've been using Eset for years and I've never gotten a malware or virus infection while using it. I've also gotten very, very few false positives. Perhaps 1 or 2 in a year.

   Not the best (unlike someone claims). But light and quite good.

   Reviewing 4.0.417 (Jun 5, 2009)

   I am running version 434 and I have to say v4 of this antivirus definitely is a vast improvement over v3. The performance is much better with a lighter impact on system memory usage. There is negligible performance impact on startup, when compared to Symantec Endpoint which I was running since the US Army provides it for free, and it is faster in scanning the 1.5TB of data I have on this computer system. Best antivirus available right now, in my opinion.

   @ cide - You are correct that Eset are one of the best. You are incorrect in saying version 4.0.417 does not exist. It does! Downloaded my update at 1600 BST.
   
   The products updated to this version number are ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 & ESET Smart Security 4 both *86 & *64, although betanews is not specifying this.
   The latest version for the old products is 3.0.684

   Best A/V there is. This isn't 4.0.417 though. It's 4.0.314
