Continues to improve with each build. They added some new system alert thing, which could be ok for some users, however not everyones cup of tea! At least there is a easy way to disable that feature should you decide not to use it.
I would have preferred an option to choose weather to install that component or not during the initial install.

I am currently using build 8.0.0.240, and have found it works really well. Apart from some cosmetic changes to the UI it seems the same as Cyberscrub - However East-Tec Eraser seems more up-to-date with the programmes that are out there, the updates are more readily accessible, and according to other reviews I have read their support seems better.

There may be other programs that do wiping. But this is the only one that I have seen that has many different wipe methods not found in other products. Such as Russian GOST P50739-95, German VSItR, U.S. NAVSO P-5239-26, B. Schneier's algorithm, and others.
Also its the only one I know of that scrambles the file names & properties if you configure it to, which is just as important. Along with erasing the extra "slack" space.
The negative to this program is its cost, and its upgrade cost. Another negative I should mention is that its now using the stupid online activation cr*p. I've had to email them a couple of times to re-activate my copy because of reinstalling windows too many times. Its dang annoying and I hate it, but until another program comes with the same features, I have no choice.

Nice program. But there are free things out there does the same thing. Plus the version number is wrong. The website is saying it's 2006 not 2005.

I really like this powerful program. Aside from being a workhorse that allows the user to define wiping parameters as high as any personal use program that I've seen, it also provides the user a slider to assign the level of system resources to commit to the wiping operation. I've found that by going offline and shutting down all other active programs and running at the highest level, the engine can complete its operation in much faster time than any other wiper I've sampled. The typical browser, cache, history, etc, cleaning module is smooth and quick and easily customized.
