Eudora for Windows 8.0.0 Beta 3 beta
Publisher's Description:
Eudora provides easy to use email features plus the extra customization for the most advanced user. It gives you the best of both worlds. It's easy to use for a first-time emailer, yet has power to spare for advanced users who rely on easy mail management, color-coding and superior find features for email content searches. Easily sort and manage your mail, using multiple email accounts and a virtually unlimited number of mailboxes. Tracking your contacts is easy with immediate access to Internet directories and the personalized address book. Almost anything you can do — including filing, forwarding, and trashing messages — can be automated with filters, so you save time and stay on top of your work with minimal effort.
Eudora has the following other editions available: Eudora for Mac OS X.
Latest Changes:
- Includes Penelope version 0.1a22
- Using Thunderbird 3.0a1pre trunk code
- A Linux version of Eudora is now available
- Mac OS X address book integration turned on by default
- Importing mailboxes from Classic Mac Eudora is greatly improved
- Fixed bug where Windows Eudora importing would not prompt user for correct location of data when data is not found
- Fixed logic reversal bug that caused both Mac and Windows Eudora address book importing to fail
- If you select a minimum amount of text before replying to a message, the reply will only quote the selected text
- When importing Eudora settings, more settings are mapped to corresponding Mozilla settings. All Eudora settings are stored for future interpretation without re-importing
- When importing filters from Classic Eudora, filter actions which are not currently supported in Thunderbird are preserved so that when they are supported in future versions of Thunderbird they will be available to the user

Sadly, I'm still not a huge fan of the Penelope Project in its current state or Thunderbird to begin with.
I had hoped more progress would have been made since the initial annoucement of the death of the original Eudora and this rebirth. I'll stick with the last official Eudora 7 release for the foreseeable future.
One thing that I've seen noted more than once by many different people is why Mozilla is making more work for themselves. Mozilla isn't making more work. People should actually read the Penelope Project webpage on the Mozilla site. The Penelope Project team is comprised of Eudora people. Penelope is an extension of Thunderbird and not a replacement.

Lordy, this is a mess, I uninstalled it right away. What it use to be and what it is now are two different things. I have to agree with the others here, this is not worth installing any more, let it die.. I should think that Mozilla would have enough to do to keep their original projects moving in the right direction. Hmmmmm makes one wonder, where is mozilla going and how long will it be before they too fall behind? Just my thoughts on this is all. I give this email software a low rating, do not bother with it.

So like Netscape Navigator being based on Firefox this is based on Thunderbird. Now we know where old products go to die. It's time to follow AOLs lead and put this program out of it's misery.

Still very buggy. Like the users below, there is confusion on my part with all these versions. I actually didn't know there was a Thunderbird 3 out there. Couldn't find it on the mozilla sites. But the user below had the link. And i tried t-bird 3 beta. More stable than Eudora. That looks more promising than this version of Eudora.
