FTP Voyager 15.0.0.1
Publisher's Description:
FTP Voyager is a powerful FTP client for Windows with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. It lets you update a Web site with a single click, transfer files directly between FTP servers, resume interrupted downloads, and perform advanced file searches while doing other FTP tasks. The FTP Site Profile Manager makes it easy for you to add your own FTP sites. You can also import your FTP sites from many other FTP applications for use in FTP Voyager. It supports secure connections using SSL and SSH. Additional features include auto ASCII/Binary transfer selection, advanced file filtering, folder shortcuts, clipboard URL monitoring, and dial on demand. You can also queue your downloads for later. By adding files to download to a queue, you can continue on with your FTP tasks and start the download queue when you're finished.

Yea I agree FTP Voyager is a great app, but it has seem to get bloated over the last updates and the price has made me make the move.

I am very happy With Voyager, I have used this client, and It is just a hands down great App..
but I will say this, it is Priced on the high end of all ftp clients, time to find another client...
I did enjoy the 2 year warranty wich was over priced also.

Hiccups on large file downloads? What does that mean, and is it reproducible? I've downloaded large files without a problem. I'm not doubting that you have truly had issues with FTP Voyager, zridling... Mention them to FTP Voyager support if you care to (though obviously you've no such obligation).

The customization is great, even fantastic, but this version still hiccups on large file downloads, which is critical to me, and which does not happen with other FTP software.

As usual, the price shown here isn't correct (for the version listed). The actual price (for the non-secure version) is $39.95 with a year of updates. The secure version, with two years of updates, is what costs $59.95. Yes, I think both of these prices are pretty high, but we all should know how I feel about that.
As far as what it offers over FileZilla, the interface alone is enough for me. With FileZilla 2.2.14b, I can hardly configure anything--I can't even put the local/remote panes above one another, rather than side-by-side; I can't configure the toolbar, or the listing font; I can't decide whether I want file tranfer dialogs or not... and so on.
FTP Voyager offers extensive customization, which I put a high value on. You don't? Great. I don't care. That's why you get your review, and I get mine.
FTP Voyager also has a "sync" function, which is a nice idea (also not found in FileZilla), but could be better implemented. I much prefer the way Beyond Compare works in this regard.
FTP Voyager has lots of little niceties, like "folder locking", remote file editing, power file transfers (really just a gimmicky name for dynamic file transfer multi-threading, but still a nice feature). None of these alone are life-altering features, but they add up to a very nice usability enhancement. Again, if you like using a rigid, feature-devoid freebie just to save a few bucks, that's wonderful for you.
There are a slew of other things that FTP Voyager offers that others don't, such as the "FTP Voyager Scheduler". Agreed, some of these are esoteric features that average users have no use for.
