FirePanel XP is an extension for the new firewall found in Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1. It improves your Windows Firewall with features not normally available to users. Set rules, monitor your firewall activity, filter packets, watch logs, and keep realtime tabs on what exactly your connection is being exposed to. Protect servers from most unsolicited internet traffic and malicious probes, by specifying which addresses can even find that open port. If the IP is not on the list, the packet is simply dropped and logged, limiting the surface of attack on your connection. There are multiples panes to display all important network information and the rules protecting your system.

Man, I haven't even finished downloading this program, but I just reckon anyone with smokey's sense of humour deserves 5 stars for bustin' his chops so hard.
Reviewing 1.5.6.0 (Dec 20, 2004)
This offers really no advantage over the native XP/2003 Firewall UI and viewing the log in Notepad (which evens gives more information and performs a 1000 times better). Looks like a overpriced implementation of some free sample code.

The gui is set to those colors so when youre staring into your logs at 3am you don't go blind.
I busted my chops writing this app, so I rate myself a 5. =}

Reviewing 1.5.1750 (Oct 18, 2004)
Idea is great, but implementation hopeless.
First, proggy uses .NET Framework, so loads and runs very long time, slows system startup (Celeron D, 2.53GHz, 512MB RAM). Tool like this should be written in native C++ or Delphi. Second, UI is poor, looking like Windows 3x. Third: too many bugs, framework exceptions all the time.
