Free Launch Bar is a free replacement for the standard Quick Launch bar. All functions presented in Quick Launch are also in this program. However, this program is fully compatible with Quick Launch because it uses the same folder for shortcuts. But there is one huge difference. This program allows you to combine your shortcuts into groups. This feature looks like popup menus. This vastly improves the management of your shortcuts and save working space on your desktop.

Although very good this is actually shareware and not freeware.

I use this software for several months and it's great. It's like a Start Menu, only smaller and with what I WANT to put in it. A lot of option for the icons. Great!

I dig this little app in a big way. For years I had been using the very clunky option of placing my "Links" bar from my Internet Explorer favorites on my Task Bar, and using that for storing folders of applications (if you drag a folder to the Quick Launch bar, clicking on it will just open a window of that folder, not a menu of the folder contents).

Free Launch Bar does everything that I want it to do, plus even more fun little features like separators and changing the icons of the folders. True Launch Bar, which is FLB's Shareware big brother, has all of this functionality plus a slew of bells and whistles that may well be worth paying for (skins and plug-in support, primarily), but I am perfectly happy with this "stripped down" free version!
