    Simple solution here:
    1.) Register on the website.
    2.) Download this program.
3.) Write down your local phone number from the freei software.
4.) Go to My Computer and create a new Dial-Up connection. For the phone number, enter the local number from Freei. For the username, use your full freei.net email address (i.e. JohnDoe@nj.freei.net), and your password in the password field.
Done! You can now connect to the internet for free, with no banner ads, and a fairly stable connection. Free email, too, though I've found it's not too reliable. The service is fair, might get disconnected every once in a while, but... you get that with most any dial-up service.
Can't beat having internet access for free! Forget $20 a month for AOL.

I've tried this program in Win 2000 and it makes a direct dial connection instead of a modem dial-up connection. I haven't tried this new version, but something tells me it probably hasn't been fixed. Go with either FreeWWWeb or NetZero. (FreeWWWeb has no banners or anything!)

Why are you listinh this? This is not new softwaree, or even beta software? Are you now taking money to plug software on the site?? Please don't make me switch to FileFlash, because you turned into MTV (You know, everything but Music Videos).
    Please stick to the subject.

Don't try this on Windows 2000. After the prog crashed I shut it down. I lost the first inch of screen space on the desktop. So I ran the Win uninstall, then I couldn't reboot and had to run the OS repair routine from the Win 2000 cd to get up and running again. WHew!
