I was searching betanews for something to fill in forms and when I saw this on the list I could not believe it. I would have thought higher of this site...Who would ever actually install gator?

This is not only adware it's bundled with a companion software that uses the bottom of your browser screen to broadcast advertisement. Gator not only remembers your passwords, It's spyware also transmits information by to home server. Previous versions any attemps to uninstall it would render your internet connection useless.

It's adware - not freeware. Why pretend?
