    As a technical reviewer and writer, I periodically test Freeware and Shareware programs to, in turn, be able to provide solid answers to the readers' questions.
    One of the recent batch of questions from readers involved inability to play .AVI files on the otherwise very functional computers.

    Having read the description of what appears to be a very nice set of features, I have selected "GDivX Zenith Player" to be the hopefully-perfect solution to the problem.
    I have started the install process but, after reading just part of the "agreement", I have promptly cancelled the installation. Why?

    The "agreement" says right there and then this product contains adware (WhenUSave) and, to be able to use the player you MUST allow the adware to install also. It also says that, if you don't like the adware, you MUST uninstall the player!

    Needless to say, in this day and age when users try to avoid adware like a disease, any software that carries the built-in scumware of any kind cannot receive any further consideration or recommendation from this reviewer, no matter how great the program itself might be.
    Should the absolutely-no-scumware-of-any-kind version become available in the future, I would be happy to test drive it and perhaps even recommend to the users. Thank you.

    if you like spy ware go right ahead and use this i wont even give the install the pleasure of finishing...

    There are plenty of non-adware multi-media players that handle DiVX files just fine. Hmm..a few less cpu-cycles versus no adware....easy choice for me.

    Ever since version 1.9.9, this program has become absolute junk. I still have the 1.9.9 install file, and whenever i feel the need to install a program that has uncanny support for every divx file out there (sometimes they dont even play in WMP or Divx Player 2.0...while they play in GDivx) ill load of version 1.9.9...

    I see no reason to run any version past 1.9.9.
