WARNING...I upgraded to version 10. I found out the license is per computer. I have been using this software for eight years and have just uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller Pro. See ya later Goodsync. You greedy f*cks!

Too many bugs, does not support Amazon, one of the largest cloud services available. Very disappointing.

ive been using this product for at least 6 years now : and its got me out of a few holes on many occasions - to contradict a few comments : im happy to get regular updates, it shows there is continual development , and secondly - not everybody uses amazon cloud , its doesn't make a product useless just because one data source isn't available , the cloud/broadband (certainly in the UK) , has a long way to go before I would rely on it as a backup : GOODSYNC - keep up the good work - and im happy to pay the small amount to backup my data to a 2TB USB3 external drive (which I can carry around , and not rely on having a net connection!)

Works very well for me. I do a lot of traveling and it is a snap to sync my laptop with my home computer whenever I get home. The one big gripe I have is that I'm constantly updating the software with updates fairly too often.
lg have you tried customer support yet? They are exceptionally fast to help customers out.

Still no fix for me...$29 wasted.
This program is nearly obsolete. Window 8 will have the better features.
If you haven't wasted your money already or want something that works now...then use FreeFileSync which receives rave reviews from various computer guru's.
john55smith reviewed v9.0.7.7 on Feb 10, 2012
Works very well for me, especially the new GoodSync Connect feature.
lg reviewed v9.0.4.4 on Jan 30, 2012
Still no fix for version 8 which BTW is no longer updated and now they come out with this crap which BTW also doesn't work. Clueless company!!!!!
And Uriel....NOBODY should have to configure ANY firewall for ANY program.
Uriel reviewed v9.0.4.4 on Jan 26, 2012
Very good syncer. A new private Goodsync server was implemented into version 9. No need to use a cloud service to sync unless you want to. I was very frustrated getting it all set up but found the issue was with my firewall. Customer support was very quick to reply. He told me that it was designed to setup with Windows firewall automatically. I don't use Windows firewall so I had to configure it myself.
One word of caution is to watch that you don't accidentally purchase a backup CD like I did. I clicked through too fast with PayPal and ended up with a worthless coaster.
lg reviewed v9.0.1.1 on Jan 5, 2012
Great! They never fixed my problems with Version 8 and now they want me to spend money for Version 9 which, btw, has the same exact problems.
I will be looking elsewhere for a program that isn't so buggy.

I have problems with some files. Error messages do not help!
truthbetold reviewed v9 (v8.8.7.3) Beta on Nov 20, 2011
Based on what Uriel said (below) I tried this new one out to see if it was any better...IT STILL FAILS on some files!!!!!
And from the reviews I've seen about Roboform one has to wonder... who does this Uriel person work for :-)
Do yourself a favor, try one of the dozen or so FREE programs that actually work. Such as FreeFileSync 4.3.
Uriel reviewed v9 (v8.8.7.3) Beta on Nov 19, 2011
Still the best synchronizer. I get no problems with any of my machines period and haven't had any problems for a few years now. Goodsync is a creation of Roboform. Roboform is the best password utility money can buy. Just like Roboform, Goodsync is a quality product.

Goodsync BS. More like BadSync. Fails to sync many files.

SoundMix reviewed v8.6.8.8 on Apr 13, 2011
Does not work. Some files fail to copy. Error messages are not useful. Other free programs work better.
Uriel reviewed v8.6.8.8 on Apr 13, 2011
Simply works.
Pros: Great way to sync Firefox bookmarks between computers outside of the cloud.
Cons: Too many updates.

I own this program. It is updated weekly to correct bugs. This program is the buggiest program I have ever used and it does not like my firewire connection. There are many freeware programs that are very good for backing up files or for syncing computers. This program is evolving into a client/server program. Not the direction I want to go.
Gripweed reviewed v8.5.0.5 on Dec 29, 2010
I tried it out and liked it and bought it and used it for about 6 months. In all that time one thing irked me about the program - you had to manually go in and remove any time you had a condition where your source and destination files were both deleted. If you didn't the screen would fill with DELETED=DELETED listings. I wrote Support and they told me that would be fixed in Version 9. Now they are showing off their Version 9 beta and it appears that they have changed entirely the way the program works. It is going to be based on the client/server concept now. That's fine if you are dealing within one computer or multiple computers on a network but it will not work for me as I'm connecting to media boxes. I'm guessing that it won't work if you are using a NAS server either. There's nothing there that you can run the client side software on. I'm now using Allways Sync and my DELETED=DELETED problems are finally over.

BTW this application is impressive! Highly recommended!

The program has come a long way from the early versions and is worth another look if you checked it out some time ago. It is actually free of charge for a 1 or 2 sync tasks. You only have to buy the retail version if you have over a certain number of backup or sync tasks.
Personally, I only use it to backup my roboform to the online site. I prefer syncbackpro for my main backups. However, a friend preferred goodsync as the interface was easier than syncbackpro (his computer skills were more limited). So, you may find your views of goodsync vary depending on your computer skills.
SizzlechestXXX reviewed v7.9.6.6 on Aug 17, 2009
Very good program for people afraid of the command line. However, synchronization can be done for free using robocopy or rsync. (E.g., robocopy C:\sourcedir X:\destdir /MIR /NDL)
john55smith reviewed v4.5.0 on May 16, 2006
With GoodSync I stopped using Windows Explorer to sync files between my work computer, home computer and notebook. Now syncing is pretty much fully automated and I do not lose files like it could happen when I forgot that I made changes in both places.
Even more, I managed to wire port 139 thru SSH and I can use GoodSync to synchronize even remote computers.
Good software, indeed.
