what can I say about this:

downloaded and ran the installer, only for my AV software to go nuts about Google trying to write to my autorun area of the registry. Didn't really want that, so tried to quit, only for Vista to crash and my machine to reboot.

Vista is terrible in many many many ways, but crashing isn't one of them. so I'm not going to attempt vista gears again.

Yesterday there was an issue with google gears that prevented many of google's services from working properly, like google reader.

I dumped this extension, basically because I never used it.
