ICQ is a program that lets you find your friends and associates online in real time. You can create a Contact List containing only people you want to have there, you can send them messages, chat with them, send files, configure ICQ to work with external applications and more.

Stupid AOL! Icq was going to take over the world of instant messaging. Right upon til they canceled ICQ Pro. That program was really King of IM. FIlestransfers where so good. Drag and drop folders everything you wanted back in 2002.

Messenger is good, but they have alot to learn from ICQ Pro. The Offlineservers dont work to good in MSN LIVE, sending folders and files is a pain in the a** too.
But still, everybody I know have put ICQ i the grave. Thats where it belongs =/

As usual, AOL kill software it purchased. First Netscape, now ICQ. Winamp is still alive, at least Lite version.

I hope that they will do similar to ICQ what they did with Netscape, set it free (Mozilla). Since original ICQ client keep getting worse each new edition

Not only ICQ popularity is shrinking, AOL has the bad idea to add ads. Since the last 4 years. I didn't have any contact requesting ICQ.

@Zankur: Miranda is infinitely better than this ICQ client. Miranda is multi-protocols, no ads, customizable and, in my opinion, better than native client as all the useless bloat features are cut down.

You should probably an AOL user. Any program having more than one button or one menu item becomes too complex.
