Every IRC client released for the PC since the days of text only clients has been garbage, and this one unfortunatly doesn't change that. The sound/colors/graphics garbage that mIRC and pIRCh started is happily carried along, and unfortunatly, that's about the only part of this client that works.

It is INCREDIBLY slow, my standard 100wpm typing speed FAR outpaces its input box, sometimes catching up with me several sentences later, not just a few letters at a time. And it crashes CONSTANTLY. I ran it for about 10 minutes, and i had to restart it 7 times in that time frame.

mIRC will always reign. I don't know what it's lacking exactly, but it's the most configurable IRC client out there. If I had to choose, I'd rather be a script kiddie over a graphics boy.

I dumped X-Chat some time ago after it become abundtantly-clear that it was simply losing stability with each release, and nothing more. I tried going back to mIRC but... ughh, so lacking nowadays.

Then I came across IceChat. It's not perfect, but it's stable and does so many things well, that I've stuck with it. It has some bugs (especially when editing a line you've just typed), but they're not make-or-break issues. This is now the multi-server IRC client I recommend.
