who needs this crap? my iomega usb zip drive is recognised automatically on winxp; on win98 I installed iomegaware, which installed the drivers and the prog itself, then uninstalled the programme. the drivers stayed installed, so now my usb device is recognised on all three systems - win98, xp, and linux and I don't need any extra files

Stay away from Iomega's garbageWARE. Every new Iomegaware release, introduces new bug and the latest beta is no exception. Not only it didn't fix any previous bug (Win shutdown delays, memory leakage etc), it installs ZIP device "lower filter" driver for the whole IDE / SCSI chain instead of just Iomega's device. For example iomdisk.sys is installed for EVERY ide device you have including hard disks. That cause read/write problems and you will propably have to reformat your HD very soon. Last version 3.11 had an option to uninstall AppServices (the above iomdisk.sys). Unfortunately 4.0x has no such option and if you manually remove iomdisk.sys you loose iomegaware tools. Stay away from this and anything from IOMEGA if you can. Use Win2k and WinXP standard driver instead of this crap.

Installed 3.1.1 on both win2k and 98 with absolutely no problems what so ever. Both systems rebooted fine and are working.

The most unstable software I‘ve ever tested. Installation went well but after reboot corrupted registry to the point that need to reinstall OS. I e-mail the Tech. Support but still no answer.

Iomega had removed 2.5 from their website and replaced it with 2.2.1. They are making some changes to the code according to their message forums. Of course you can probably still download 2.5 from FileForum.
