The K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool can detect and remove broken codecs and DirectShow filters. It can also generate detailed lists of all installed codecs and filters on your computers. It allows you to easily enable and disable many commonly used codecs and DirectShow filters.
Reviewing 5.5.4 (Apr 5, 2013)
Very handy, always useful. This time it found and fixed five invalid CODEC references on my laptop.
(I wonder if any of us will live long enough to ever see the CODEC bedlam achieve some modicum of order.)

Does this program work on w7-64? No Run button, though parameters can be set.
Reviewing 4.6.1 (Nov 25, 2010)
Great program, sorted all my codecs out & found orphaned ones from a long ago removed program. Highly recommended.

Orbiting is some kind of moron, huh ....
Tweak doesn't mean repair
Want to repair something, then install again or something new
I've used this pack for MANY year and never once had an issue
Grow up
Reviewing 2.5.3 (May 1, 2009)
Awesome, still updated with fast bug fixing from dev team !!!
Reviewing 2.2.5 (Mar 3, 2008)
Broke my sound. Was unable to get it back without doing a System Restore. Love the K-Lite codecs, but this was just a disaster for me. With others having good luck, this is just for caution.
Reviewing 2.2.2 (Jan 2, 2008)
I use DVDshrink 3.2 to backup my DVDs. Recently, it stopped opening altogether. The only major system change I'd made recently was to install NetFramework 2.0 to allow for ffdshow enhancements. So, I knew the problem was either related to NetFramework or ffdshow.
After downloading the tweek tool and disabling ffdshow, DVDshrink 3.2 started working again. So now, I just have to remember to temporarily disable ffdshow before using DVDshrink and re-enable it afterward to retain my ffdshow functionality. A simple and elegant solution.
Reviewing 2.1.2 (Aug 17, 2007)
Extremely useful, lots of needed functions all in one place.
Reviewing 2.1.0 (Aug 1, 2007)

Reviewing 2.0.0 (Jul 2, 2007)
An excellent instrument to eliminate all mentions to unexisting filters in your registry. It is only for filters, but more effective than others just for that purpose.
