Kaspersky Anti-Hacker is dead. No further versions will be released. Instead look at Kaspersky Internet Security.

I use now Agnitum Outpost. An enormous disadvantage of Kaspersky Anti-Hacker is, that it does not work any longer if the licence is expired.
Contrary to Agnitum Outpost: this software works again, works further with ALL functions - only the update is then locked, if the licenceperiod is over.
In my eyes is this OK. If i pay for software, it should work up to the end of life.

This is still the same program as the 1.8xx versions. Whhile KAV is most certainly a top tier anti-virus, KAH cannot hold a candle to the better firewall programs. Strange to be updating this as the Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 6 is soon to be released.

According to PC mag, the best firewall they tested was Zone Zlarm Pro. The best free firewall tested was Kerio's. Outpost came in a close second. Kaspersky didn't rate very well. Now I don't think PC mag. hasn't any sort of agenda or biase such as Cnet(download.com) or this site. If I am wrong on this I am sorry and would like to see evidence to the contrary. As far as AVs are concern, Bit Defender 9 barely beat out Kaspersky's AV. I have found both Zone alarm pro firewall and Bit defender 9 very good at keeping my computer free from viruses. Remember that to complete your security package, have 2-3 good adware and spyware programs and keep them updated. Finally, most AVs or firwalls will charge you to renew your subcription at the end of one year. The difference betweein Kaspersky and the others is that the others will give you a break on price if you are renewing as opposed to Kaspersky which sticks it to you at renewal time(if I am wrong on this i am sorry and someone can point this out). Also keep in min this Anti-Hacker program is also included in Kaspersky's all in one suite which has not gotten very good reviews. I would prefer that Kaspersky sticks to what they are good at, bring down the price and keep improving their AV product. The only reason that I gave this a 3 is betanews doesn't let you write a review without rating the product. I used the anti-hacker program from kaspersky a couple of years ago and wasn't impressed but I'm not going to say anything about this version. So the 3 is a default rating to me given Betanews inability to allow you to comment on a product without having to rate it.

The best Firewall I have ever used. Very simple to configure, loads fast. Believe me it uses less than 1 MB RAM. I tested it all testing sites (grc.com, auditmypc.com, stgate.com, hackerwatch.com/probe) and it passed every single test. I have been using this program for more than 6 months. No problems what so ever. 5 Stars for this great product.

A perfect basic firewall.
for all the persons that wants a firewall which is easy to use, without very difficult parameters to set and using a minimum of ram : Kaspersky anti-hacker is for you.
It doesn't integrate an AD an pop-up blocker but it does his job very well.
However do not forget to set the stealth mode before surfing!!!!!!!!!!
It's not free and have some problem when "blocking intuders" because it blocks all the connection

I think like most of the time Kaspersky gets a kick on back-side for anti-hacker,but to be true its "
good" on leak-test,easy to use&configure,low on ram,unlike 1.7version.
But if u start comparing to likes of Outpost, then u r in trouble....
So if u r loookin for hassle-free p[rotection then go for it!

The program obtained bad results in the current PC*WORLD test. Self protection was criticized. If you or a software delete the KEY (the registrion-file) file, the software get deactiv.
Thus one has the simple possibility of deactivating the Kaspersky Anti-Hacker program. The protection is then useless.
Therefore the request at Kasperksy, please correct this large "safety gap".

During test I detect, that the software works only 30 days. I call "Kaspersky" and they confirmed, thta you must renew every year the License-keyfile.
For this you must pay nearly a complete price from a new version. If you not want, the actually version don't work again.
That is definitely too expensive for me. There are more favorable alternatives (ZoneAlarm, Kerio or Symantec Internet Protection).
You pay 1 times ... but the software works so long as you want (after 1 year you lost ONLY support and update otions, if you not renew it).
But the program functioned further and protects your PC.

Also here again the same problem as with all KASPESKY products:
What me disturbs is the firm philosophy. After the purchase of the software "Anti-Hacker" you can ONLY work with it one year. After this year you MUST acquire a new license for money, or the software don't work aigain.
It concerns an artificial expiration date.

Is that really necessary to introduce such an obligation?
Other software producers show us, that you can use a other "way of live".
I think personally, with the purchase of software I acquire the right to use it for a long time as I would like.
Kaspersky seems to be there different opinion.

No matter which anti-virus I use I always get trojan downloaders and exploits from the sites I visit - EVERY NIGHT WITHOUT FAIL. They install into the IE temp folder and usually my AV disinfects or deletes them but they still get into the IE cache. Most AV's can't delete these things because they don't have complete rights to the IE cache especially when it's being used so they usually have to be deleted after they get into the cache UNLESS a very exceptional firewall will stop them.

Today I bought Kaspersky Anti Hacker and went to my usual haunts and after my session I went to my AV to clean up the usual bugs I get. Lo and behold my AV reported NO viruses!! This must be the very 1st time in 5 years that I have gone through an entire session without getting at least 20-30 of these trojan downloaders. Although my AV can take care of them it can't stop them from getting into the IE cache but Kaspersky Anti-Hacker, to my amazement, didn't even let 1 through!! I'm flabbergasted because I've tried Outpost Pro as well as Black Ice and Zone Alarm and never got such a clean surfing session as with KAH. This is the most underrated and absolute best firewall I've ever used - PERIOD.
