   try ca anti virus, for me its the best, real time scanner is very light, unlike other anti-virus makes your PC stuck at 5-10secs.

   I had a bad experience with Kaspersky. I did a trial download of their 2010 version, liked it well enough, and bought a seven-user 2009 package, retail. When I went to activate it, my keyboard was blocked and I was unable to enter the key code. I tried another keyboard, same thing. So, Kaspersky took control of my keyboard / PC, so that I could not use my valid key code, leaving only the option to buy the license online, from their site (giving them my credit card number, too, of course). Not cool! The retail package I bought was sealed and never used, completely legal. Kaspersky could not have known if it was or wasn't, anyway, since I never got to enter the key code. Point being that I should have been perfectly able / allowed to register a new, retail product. Having already downloaded the trial is what got me. Even though I uninstalled it and restarted the PC, there is still a counter on my computer, telling the days remaining on my "trial" period. This is complete bull! My next question is, that if they are doing something this unethical (in my opinion, it is), then what else are they doing with access to my PC?

   I try new software on a daily basis. Legitimate software that is. And my free AVG antivirus and antispyware has not caught anything for more than a year. Paying for an antivirus is just pointless.

   well kaspersky is one of the best out there!
   Dont take the words of these fools saying one doesnt need no av. I am in the habbit of testing/trying soo many diff softwares, from all over the net. i cant imagine installing any ONE of them without scannning!!
