Publisher's Description

MPEGed allows you to easily modify MPEG file properties without re-encoding and without sacrificing quality. Such properties include resolution, framerate, and full screen aspect ratio. The most common issue with recent MPEGs downloaded from the net is that full screen playback is either 'squished' or 'stretched'. By adjusting the aspect ratio to comply with the MPEG resolution it is possible to achieve correct full screen playback. MPEGed even has an auto detect feature which will try its best to determine what aspect ratio should be used.

Great util for MPEG's where the play back ratio is messed up. The autodetect seems to work 90% of the time. Otherwords try each aspect ratio until it looks right. You could do the same with a HEX editor and some understanding of MPEG headers. But having a stand alone util like this is much better and less of a headache... Hopefully the author will respond back to this ;-)

I'm the author of MPEGed... it seems the problem about a virus being detected is due to the distributed EXE being compressed with ASPack... I'm looking into alternatives... I've scanned my complete system with the latest definitions and have received no confirmation of a virus.

This app sounds cool. Anybody has a mirror for it? I get a "Temporarily Unavailable" message.

The point of the program is to modify the resolution and frames per second of an image file... If your quality is already superior, there's no point in using this. But say you download an MPEG encoded to a small res... This program lets you raise that res... Something I've been looking for for a while

Do a lot of mpegs and video cd stuff and I really couldnt see what the point of this program was. Didnt seem to make any direct changes and the file sizes stayed the same. Could I have missed the point of this file?
