Maxthon is a powerful web browser with a highly customizable interface. It is based on the Internet Explorer engine which means that what works in IE, works the same in Maxthon but with many additional efficient features like Tabbed Browsing Interface; Mouse Gestures; Super Drag&Drop; Privacy Protection; AD Hunter; Google Bar Support; External Utility Bar; and Skinning.
- Improved startup speed
- Improved exit speed
- Fixed a ctrl +/- not working problem
- Support browsing FTP and local folder
- Improved encoding detection of frames
- Improved startup speed and reduced memory usage
Reviewing 3.0.6.27 Alpha (Jan 28, 2010)
Why is the screen shot not one of the Maxthon 3? From the look of the picture, it looks like either the original or the Maxthon 2. It's a surprise & not always a good one when you don't get what you see in the screen shots.
I have no use for any Maxthon product anymore.
Reviewing 3.0.6.9 Alpha (Dec 30, 2009)
this should not be released. I know it's alpha but they should at least wait until Beta... It is completely useless. It has no features at all and nothing works. Do not download this, if you expect to use it day to day.
Reviewing 3.0.5.21 Alpha (Dec 1, 2009)
I completely agree with Dudeboyz. This thing is a crock of sh1te. They should never have stopped development on the v1 series. Then again, this sort of thing happens time and time again. Example: Filezilla. 2.2.32 is still the best version. Sigh.
Reviewing 3.0.5.7 Alpha (Nov 15, 2009)
I would be happy if Max 3 could be the Max 2 interface with the Webkit engine. For those who want the sparse Chrome-like interface a button could be installed to go to that interface or stay with the feature rich Max 2 as it is now.
I have been with Max 2 since the start and have seen it evolve into the browser it is today and I use it constantly. I'm anxious to see this evolve.
Reviewing 3.0.4.8 Alpha (Oct 27, 2009)
Maxthon 3 is simply the best version so far. I don't like Maxthon 2 because it's bloated with too many features which majority even don't use. I wanted it to be clean, simple, and lite. With Maxthon 3 they are going in the right direction.
Plus the greatest thing they did is they moved away from Trident. Now they are using webkit as a browser engine which is more faster, and follow 100% web standards.
I am simply loving this version it so far. Lets see what happens next in later releases :)
