   ffmpeg, mencoder and LAME are a "crap bunch of tools?" A statement like that eradicates any credibility a person thinks he has.
   
   This page is patrolled by haters who bombard the ratings with 1s whenever a new version appears. Despite a handful of very real flaws, Media Coder is a highly useful collection of video processing tools for more-advanced users. In other words, if you know what you're doing, MediaCoder will help you solve certain problems not currently handled by other GUIs.

   I understand the complaints about the browser-based interface and the complexity of the GUI, but the sheer functionality of this freeware utility aggregator trumps all of that for me. Five stars!
