Memtest86 is thorough, stand alone memory test for x86 architecture computers. BIOS based memory tests are a quick, cursory check and often miss many of the failures that are detected by Memtest86.

Works great, though I prefer Memtest86+ as it seems to be updated more often.

I've pretty much abandoned this for use of memtest86+, but never hurts to have both. memetest86+ is updated more frequently, and obviously copied now by memtest.

As others have already said, memtes86 is one of the best known and longest running memory testers out there.

Excellent program that is HIGHLY recommended by anyone who has the faintest idea what they're talking about.

You're a tard. They're charging you to burn it to a CD for you and ship it out, if you're too lazy/can't be assed downloading and burning it yourself. I can only assume that it's actually intended for people like yourself - too lazy to read the damn website, and see the "FREE DOWNLOAD" link plastered all over the page. :P

I see where he is talking about Memtest being a scan. Here --> http://www.memtest86.com/ they want to charge you for it.
