MetaBench is a benchmarking program consisting of more than 45 different tests designed to benchmark high-end systems. Benchmarks are carefully designed in consideration with new CPUs and system architectures. It consists of two types of benchmarks: Synthetic and practical. Its synthetic test measures different component's performance purely. Practical tests are consisted of different algorithms being used in different software. They are designed to measure performance of the whole system as unit, they include Ogg Vorbis audio encoding/decoding, Fast Fourier Transforms(FFT) tests, and PPMD compression method.
- Raytrace rendering benchmark is added (Multi-threaded)
- Blowfish encryption/decryption benchmark is added
- Multithreaded version of QuickSort is added
- Bug fixed: crashes on some multi-threaded tests
- Small bugs fixed

This program promises to be quite intersting - if only it wouldn't hang my PC on test 38 every time!

Good start on a real-world, whole system benchgmark score. All it needs is simple disk, and 2D-3D graphics performance added to the mix. I really like the composite benchmark score and compact size. Right now, Performance Test is the champion by far, and should be a goal for quality and functionality to which Metabench should aspire. Although Performance test is smaller than Metabench, it has disk and graphics testing, so it can be done without bloat. Deficiencies that need addressing right away is corrupt XML file output, ability to re-load previous benchmarks, and adding in a better variety of system benchmarks for comparison. (I ran a 3342) Good luck Metabench.

The first screen looked good, but it continually crashes at test 36 (of 45) so I can't give it a full review!

Decent bare-bones benchmarking. No fancy 3d like other Apps. Built in graphs are decent. Would've given a 4, but when adding my results (4720 BTW) to the database, I got a "Cannot connect to relay.pair.com" message. So no adding scores to the database for now. With a little more work, it could be good for making system comparison graphs.
