This is not a commercial product, nor will it become one. This tool is a mere testing ground for some of their technologies which will eventually be rolled into other products. For example, face detection was tested here, then rolled into a real product called Windows Live photo Gallery. Other technology bits from here have also been used in PhotoSynth. You will never see this tool on the primary MS website -- that's why it is on their Research site which most people will never see.

Hmmm... Have the people over at Microsoft even seen the "collages" (can we even call them that?) that this "thing" produces? Good Lord... And they actually have the nerve to SELL this! O M G.

Oh, this is very cheesy, and will appeal to stupid philistines. Even the name is wrong, as the program produces montages, rather than collages.

I am sure there are some clever algorithms behind it but looking at the sample pics on their site - it's the cheesiest rubbish :))
Difficult to see why this would be a commercial product. What I see is really not motivating to even try.
