Microsoft Download Manager enables you to download files from the Internet in a more reliable and faster way than using a browser alone. Using the Download Manager makes it easier to download large files such as an application or multimedia files. The Download Manager has been specifically designed to manage file downloads from supporting Microsoft Web sites in a secure and reliable way. Once started, the Download Manager displays an easy¬-to-use interface that shows the status of downloads and enables you to resume downloads if they have failed. The Microsoft Download Manager currently supports downloads from Web addresses starting with http://.
Reviewing 1.2 (Jun 11, 2011)
You know what I thought when I first saw this one? I thought it was a joke. They have certainly chose a nice name for their software. ^_^
Reviewing 1.1 (May 21, 2010)
I tried v1.1 on Win7 x64 with both IE8 and FF3.6 and it won't work. FF3 sees the plugin installed but not IE8. Even adding a URL directly from the manager won't work!
Reviewing 1.1 (May 20, 2010)
Did not integrate with IE8. Is not portable and does not support https.
MiniDM which is bundled with IE7Pro integrates with IE if desired, is portable and does support https.
Day late and a dollar short.
I don't use either IE, ie7pro, or minidm as ff has a perfectly working manager of it's own.
