    Also, if he bothered to even run it..

    He would see it's not even MSE.

    It's Windows defender. Notice the copyright date of 2008.

    Makes me think this is old as hell?

    ilev: This software is different from MSE. MSE is a full AV solution that runs on a working computer. This software boots from a CD and thus can work even if there is running malware or viruses that would normally block AV software from working correctly.

    MSE is prevention software; this is correction software. Both have their uses.

    Just junk. MSE has been rated 19th out of 20 in AV-TEST for cleaning infected Windows PCs.
