Publisher's Description

Windows 8 Consumer Preview is a pre-release version of Windows 8 that focuses on people and apps and gives you powerful new ways to use social technologies to connect with the people who are important to you. It's Windows reimagined. Windows 8 Consumer Preview is built on the rock-solid foundation of Windows 7 and has the security and reliability features you expect from Windows, but we've made it even better. It's fast, and it's made to work on a variety of form factors' especially the new generation of touch devices.

Here's your chance to be one of the first to try it out. We'll be using information from preview users to make the final product even better.

Sorry you missed out on tabs microcrap, but forcing the world to use a tab OS on their desktop is not the answer.

Well, looks like Microsoft is leaving the PC in the dust with their newest OS. Yes, you will be able to access the desktop, but have to do some different things to get to it. This so reminds me of the Ubuntu/Unity snafu that shook up the Linux community. Guess change is inevitable.

Better for tablet PC not for desktop.

Yet another Vista, and even though technically it's superior to Windows 7, Windows 8's UI is such an abomination, it's absolutely unhandy for most serious users.

Corporates will shun it like a plague.

It is ok, but then again most people hated windows 7 but learned to use it.

Has some interesting new features, but not worth the effort of an upgrade.

Same category as Windows Millenium and Vista. (It is a pre-beta - not a beta)
