Didn't think much of Beta 2, but this refresh is a lot better!

Really like the new features in Powerpoint (styles, effects, etc)!

I lost my Beta 2 Key, as I needed to re-install Office, and SmartSource couldn't find my account (typical!), so I just bought a new one for £1.20 (Couldn't even get you far on a bus these days!).

Download service fee of $1.50 to download the Beta 2. WTF is that?

That nasty Ribbon is gone if you want; many will prefer the new Silver theme I bet; far more customization now; and the Windows menu is clean for a change. I created a 32,767-page Word document and it was only 2M in size using .docx format. Wow!

If you are an official Beta tester for Office 2007 you should have gotten an e-mail giving you access to ALL of the Technical Refresh files. There are seperate files for Office, Project, Sharepoint, Visio, Groove, and all the various server editions. If you need a new key there are new ones available at BetaPlace. Your old one should work though as the TR itself does not require a key. You should only need a key if you are re-installing Office.

I have found so far that the Office 2007 TR is NOT compatible with Norton Internet Security 2007 ET8 Beta with the Add-On Pack Beta. Norton will still run and Office One Note 2007 runs too. But Word, Excel etc. run but they can't open anything. Otherwise it's decent update.

Paul Skinner:- just use your beta 2 key if installing from scratch, but if you have beta 2 already installed this simply updates that copy.

EDIT:
I'm wrong this can't be installed as a stand alone application. You must have Beta 2 installed first, see:

You don't unless you were an original Beta 2 downloader.

Great stuff... has resolved a lot of the Beta 2 issues I've experienced.

As a beta 2 user how do I get hold of it without having to pay?
Do I have to wait for an email?

I'm guessing I didn't make "As a beta 2 user" clear enough to you. I *AM* an original beta 2 user.

I really like the new interface. It is very intuitive. I mainly use Outlook and Word. Just great (although I would not pay for it).
