I use it every single day 3 days a week for storing the passwords for almost 550 hundred of servers our company, HP, supports.
It has been pretty useful and straight to the point. It just does what you need it to do. Simple, easy to use.
Obviously, one always have to keep a backup of your info (come on its an MS product!), but I have only faced a failure once.
Choose it if you wish a fast-simple-easytouse-portable-passwordprotected-handy application.

It does what it's suppose to do. Simple to use and very straight-forward. 5/5 on this one. Nice job MS, would certanly like to see more of such handy tools.

Somewhat malicious. It is not reliable. Seems to hang explorer.exe at 99% of CPU usage frequently beyond repair. (thus hard-reset is only solution, because task manager can't kill this explorer.exe when this happens.)

The program hung when trying to change the password. Uninstalled, and though the files remain fairly easy to find on the PC, they do remain encrypted (and hence unreadable). This is a handy app for most folks. I highly recommend maintaining a backup of any files stored in MPF though.
As for the strength of the security, MSFT states that this is not meant to be be a high quality file encryption program. It is simply meant as a means for the casual user to secure files from other relatively trusted people who share the PC with them.
I had to rate a 3 because of the password hang issue, which could result in lost data if the user doesn't have a backup. I can see the program improving though. It is only 1.0 after all ;)
