Mindful combines an event reminder and a mini calendar in a system tray application. Define your own events and/or select from the list of 72 predefined common events including many US, Canadian and Jewish holidays. Use it to be reminded of appointments, anniversaries and any occasions, recurring or not, that you never want to miss again. The date of an event can be specific like an anniversary, which occurs on the same date every year, or it can be formulated, like a meeting that occurs every 3 months on the last Friday of the month. Mindful supports both specific and formulated event dates.

just what I needed. I don't forget birthdays or doctors appointments anymore.
Reviewing 1.2 (Sep 12, 2005)
No keyboard shortcuts for adding events or notes. Nonstandard dialog keys, tab order is inconsistent, and no way to test SE version without buying it. Regular version's features are disabled. Not good.
Reviewing 1.1 (Aug 25, 2005)
Not a bad program except for two things: (1) the calendar should be integrated into the main task window, and (2) no keyboard shortcuts for its functions. Mindful's well-written Help file is impressive.
