Modem Spy makes phone conversation recording a piece of cake. It records phone conversations, records from microphone, plays back recorded mesages via phone line, plays back recorded mesages via sound card, can record all incomming phone calls, and has built-in software automatic gain control Caller ID ready.

Worked fine for me for the most part.. A few parts could have had better documentation. war59312: It is entirely legal to record a phone conversation in the state of South Carolina, in which I live. For all of you concerned about the law, please visit:

I've never gotten this to work either. Fifth time I tired now and I've givin up. Anyways this is very illegal here in SC if you use it to record other people without it saying that you are beging recorded every min. or at least a peeping sound every 30 sec.

I was thrilled to hear about that tool, however, couldn't record my voice through a mic while calling others! they also couldn't hear me although I could hear my mic clearly and their voice too. Only the incoming voice could be recorded for no apparent reason. Very poor documentation in my opinion, it assumes that you can predict where to hock your mic, speakers, set the sound record preferences from the control panel! and choose which input device to record from in the program settings! although it sounds easy it is NOT. Very confusing when for instance you can record the incoming voice but you can't hear it while recording, and you try to figure out a way to achieve a conversation while recording?! in my case I couldn't even transmit or record the outgoing voice although I could record it. It might be a software driver conflict? I am using a US Robotics 56K internal voice modem, SoundBlaster Live Platinum and a Pentium 4 2G with 256Mb DDR any help is appreciated.
