Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser.

I am so impressed on how Thunderbird automatically found my MS Exchange Server, and was up and running in 1 minute. Very cool.

TB used to be my preference but having found it to take an age to open each and every time, crash far too often and use resources at a rate that made me wonder if a crash of the OS was in progress until I realised that TB was always the culprit...long story short I switched to Claws Mail. TB has many extensions but far too many seem to have been abandoned by their developers and it's too buggy, too slow to start, too resource hungry...hardy a good choice these days. There are better clients available.

My favorite email program. It is 10x faster than outlook and gives you so many ways to set up servers.
